Me and Tim have been cooking during Spring Break, might as well make another blogpost. here's a quote from them

We're almost done with the OST, we have like only 2 more songs to make (well 3 if you count the credits song). at the moment we're focusing on having everything be playable before we start to work on the Story Mode cutscenes and other shit. we're also planning on redoing some sprites so shit is going to take a while, as it usually is.

We also got another person on the team, Hyperwhispers, who's helping with Pixelart for one of the songs. overall Me, Tonotim and Gamingmania are still working on directing the mod and figuring out what needs to be worked on, what needs to be scrapped, what we should focus on, etc. We're mostly hoping to have a full mod with 20 songs, I don't want it to be too bloated, but also not too short, something you could beat in an afternoon (so like around an hour at the max).

When developing Vs Nova, there are two sides to the mod, Story Mode, which is The main weeks with the Nova gang, and Freeplay, which is less focused on being connected to a story and is more a way to add some songs that wouldn't make sense in story mode/have characters who are not cannon to Nova be there (Like The Guy, Pog, Scpott, etc)

An upside with working on Freeplay songs is there are no cutscenes I need to worry about or a difficulty curve that needs to be followed. and overall, the entire OST is pretty banging, and we made sure there's a lot of variety in the songs like was in 2.0, so not every song feels the same.

Also if you haven't been keeping up with the news, Libitina is no longer in the mod, due to personal reasons, and not wanting to do anything with the character anymore. (there is a scrapped song still in the files, but it's hidden and you can't access it in game), who will be replacing Libitina? well for Joke, you probably know who it might be, you ever hear of "THE GUY", they will be replacing Libitina in Joke

As for Mentallity, we we're originally gonna scrap it, but I decided to make it more focused on Tiffany and Phantome than Libitina, it's still being worked on, but the new direction we're going in with these two songs might make you been content with the 3.0 versions

Also, you've probably noticed the art for 3.0 is a major improvement from 2.0, well that's one of the major factors for why we're making 3.0 in the first place, it started because I wanted to redo Nova's sprites. and now we're planning on redoing almost all of the art for 2.0, I don't think there's any sprites that remained the same TBH.

Everything is coming along, We're taking our time with this, but we understand you guys have been waiting [8 MONTHS WITHOUT A] new update. I understand, I want this to come out as soon as it can as well, but I wanna playtest as much as I can to make sure no bugs are present

We still have a long way to go, even if we're closer than ever, sometimes we wanna add something because it would be cool or it would make the mod better. I was hoping we'd make it to the 2 year anniversary for Vs Nova at the least. but if we do get there, we might have something planned if the mod isn't finished by then..

we might be redoing BF's and GF's sprites as well

Tom Fulp, if you are reading this, I'm sorry, I genuinely got worried about being de-scouted and I let it get to my head. I doubt you'll see this in a sea of accounts and posts, but if you do see this, I'm willing to start improving how I act online and toning down my impulsive actions from the past year.

if any moderator is seeing this, don't see it as me begging to be re-scouted, I just wanted to call out the past week of me begging my friends to re-scout me like a dumbass. I'm a pretty patient person when it comes to these things so if I don't get rescouted it's fine. I have better things to deal with than bitching I don't get to be front page on Newgrounds like a whiny asshole.

I do need to come out and say my art during 2023 was... just terrible, I know I put myself down a lot, but some of the stuff felt weird and creepy and I regret drawing it. and I'm only bringing it up because I need to know why I've been de-scouted so I can know not to do it again, and if it's because my art broke the site rules somehow, or something like that, I'm willing to learn from this and to be more careful online.
